Total Solar Eclipse 2024
Like I really needed the year on the title, right?
I traveled to Buffalo, NY, to visit a friend for the eclipse. We’re both pretty into wasting money on photography, so it seemed the natural thing to do.
I am, of course, thrilled to have captured the totality on my Minolta x700 with a $10 telephoto lens and a $15 teleconverter. You’ll notice, though, that most of the photos are just of other things in the area.
It was fun!
This bird sat and watched the eclipse with us.
I really didn’t expect this one to turn out! It was a ~2 second exposure braced against some railing!
Would you guess that I didn’t even realize that the handrails were lighted until after I saw this image?
This was a long exposure with a tripod, and people yelling at me to get out of the flower garden. I like it.
It isn’t particularly unique, but I really like the way the colors and lights came out on Phoenix 200.
Shot on my friend’s Hasselblad 500EL, on Cinnestill 400D.
A picture of the 500EL taking a picture of the cameras we were using to photograph the totality.
