My brother and I drove from Utah to Minnesota, and along the way I hoped to dispose of some expired Walgreens film by means of my Yashica J7.

Expired Walgreens Film

“Walgreens Studio Color 200” (mfg. by Agfa)

My father hoarded a relatively huge amount of Walgreens film at some point in the early 2000s. They were clearing it out at rock-bottom prices when it became clear that digital was the future. Little did they know, they were saving future-me a staggering amount of money.

We encountered some lonesome infrastructure and stopped to photograph it.

It was a bit too dark for the 200 speed film and my attempts to brace the camera against the roof of the car didn’t yield the stellar results one would normally expect from such an advanced technique. The first image here is the lab scan, and the second is after some heavy messing.

I lied. It’s not all expired Walgreens film.

I bought some Ektar 100 to fool around with too, and I think some of them came out pretty well.

… And some of them didn’t. On the advice of a friend I shot some of the roll using a red filter. I was told it would be neat. I’m not sure if it’s neat, but maybe I’m just looking at it wrong.

I took a lot of pictures from the inside of the car while underway. Perhaps not advisable, but it was fun!

I think some of them turned out really cool.
